SANAA A bomb exploded near a complex housing government offices in Yemen's capital Sanaa but caused no damage or casualties, a security source and witnesses said on Friday. They said the blast occurred on Thursday evening in the parking lot of the complex which includes the offices of the Ministry of Industry, the Yemen Petroleum Company and the Agricultural Credit Bank. The security source said initial investigation showed the explosion resulted from a bomb fitted with a timer.
Police were investigating. Two people were killed and 27 wounded when a grenade exploded at a crowded mosque in Sanaa during Friday prayers last month. Yemen has seen a spate of bombings across the country in recent months. Police have detained dozens of suspects, mostly opposition activists, in connection with the blasts, but most have been released. (Reuter)
